How are oils cold-pressed?

Cold-pressed Oils

The term cold-pressed has been used in very different and sometimes contradictory ways in literature. What is clear is that all seeds must be heated so that oil can be mechanically pressed from the seed without the use of solvents.

For us, cold-pressed oilmeans it is natural and produced in a gentle first pressing. With our traditional stamping press method, the fruit is heated completely independently of the pressing process after it has been ground. The major advantage to this is that the temperature can then be very precisely regulated. In addition, the subsequent pressing is so slow that no additional frictional heat is generated. This process preserves the valuable, natural substances (fatty acids, fatty compounds, vitamins, fragrance, flavour, colour).

The key feature of cold-pressed oils are those characteristics that are detectable with the nose, palate and eyes. Each of our cold-pressed natural oils is unique and unaltered and is distinguishable from its "colleagues" in its fragrance, flavour and colour.
