The History of Fandler Oil Mill - an Oil Mill with a Tradition

Fandler Oil Mill PöllauJulia Fandler - Fandler Oil Mill

1926 Martin and Juliana Schirnhofer made their dream a reality. They bought an oil mill in Pöllau – the birth of the first exquisite oils. Daughter Juliana was born the same year. After her mother's early passing, Juliana assumed her duties when she was only 14 years old. In the midst of war - men were rarely at home and no one had money for oil.

1950 Juliana married carpenter Josef Fandler and son Robert was born in 1953. When he joined the business in 1971, the Fandler Oil Mill was emerging as an ambitious company. New ideas were put into action, employees were hired, operations were continually expanded and new machines acquired.

Together with his cousin, Robert Fandler took to his bike in the late 1980s to bring their enthusiasm for the exquisite Fandler oils to Austria's larger cities. By 1987, Robert Fandler took note of the signs of the times and pressed the first oils from organically cultivated raw materials.

1973 His daughter Julia was born - and in 1994 she too joined the business. Robert Fandler passed away much too early in 2006. But like her grandmother Juliana, Julia took on her legacy with determination. There have been many changes for Fandler Oil Mill in the past years. But one thing has stayed the same: The Fandler's love for the finest oils, superior qualityand purity.
