How are oils properly stored?

Storing Edible Oil

In order to preserve their precious substances, our edible oils are bottled in dark, opaque bottles. The bottles can be kept at room temperature out of direct sunlight.

The one exception: Flax oil. This oil must be kept in the refrigerator. Even when refrigerated, flax oil is only stable for a maximum of three months after pressing. But not to worry: Flax oil is freshly pressed at Fandler on a weekly basis! All other oils can be kept for approx. 1 year. With proper keeping (cool and dark), oils may have an even longer shelf life.

Peanut oil, Olive oiland Sesame oil may thicken when kept at a temperature below 15° C. They become fluid again after a few hours at room temperature and you may continue using them with no loss of quality.
